Sweet Caroline.  It's been 6 years since our girl was diagnosed, and we are grateful to be able to share that she came off all medications in the fall.

When JDM started, Caroline always wanted to be held.  She cried often, preferred to lie down on the couch instead of playing like a 2-year-old should, and she was covered in a painful red rash.

Today, we can't get our sweet girl to sit still.  She loves soccer, ninja, cheerleading and anything that makes her run and sweat.

While we've seen true progress in her healing, we know JDM could flare again in the future.  And the medications she previously took are not ones we'd like to see her go back on....Methotrexate made her sick, Prednisone made her swell and Plaquenil damaged her retinas.

Our hope is for your donation to support the ongoing medical research that is happening to find better medications for all JM kids.  If she needs more medicine in the future, she deserves better options.  All of these kids do.
