I'm walking to help kids fighting Juvenile Myositis (JM) - a painful, rare autoimmune disease that weakens muscles, damages skin and muscles, attacks organs, and can take away simple abilities like walking, smiling, or even swallowing.
I was diagnosed with JM back when I was in fourth grade after a debilitating flare up. I never discovered this amazing community of passionate families until I joined CureJM on their research team during my undergrad years at Cal. Since then, I have been so inspired by the community and the efforts they consistently put in towards ensuring other young patients have a smoother diagnoses and treatment process than I did.
There's no cure yet, but progress is happening. Every step and every donation fuels research, supports families, and brings us closer to better treatments - and one day, a cure.
I'm joining the Walk Strong to Cure JM to raise funds for Cure JM, the only organization fully dedicated to this cause. When we walk together, small steps create BIG change.
